All indications are this winter we could be paying higher natural gas bills to heat our homes. According to a recent article in the Wall Street Journal which cited the US Energy Information Administration, "nearly half of US households that warm their homes with mainly natural gas can expect to spend an average of 30% more on their bills compared with last year." The article reports that if our winter is 10% colder than average, our gas bills could go up to 50% higher. The forecast is based on natural gas futures that have reached a seven year high.
