Independent testing has found that the Trane CleanEffects whole house electronic air cleaner removes more than 99% of the particles of the surrogate for the virus that causes COVIS-19. The surrogate for the SARS-CoV-2 is the MS2 bacteriophage which is a non-pathogenic, small, non-enveloped virus, and is considered to be more difficult to inactivate than an enveloped virus (like SARS-CoV-2). Independent testing demonstrated that Trane's CleanEffects removed more than 99% of the surrogate virus particles within 30 minutes.
